SmartParc colleagues were delighted to attend Veolia's VEO2023 event last week. It was great to talk to attendees at our stand about our pioneering heating and cooling network at SmartParc SEGRO Derby - the first of its kind in the food industry.
Veolia has brought its expertise and passion for powering cleaner energy to support the development of the energy centre at SmartParc, as we work to decarbonise food production worldwide.
The day was filled with positive, solution-focussed sessions, underpinned by a shared recognition that to succeed in fighting climate change, we must take responsibility as individuals, businesses and societies.
A real highlight was Natalie Feé's inspiring talk on her charity City to Sea's incredible efforts to reduce plastic pollution in our rivers and seas. Her message to 'be more mycelium' resonated with us at SmartParc as we seek to build collaborative networks of food parks and bring food producers together.
We’ are proud to be working with Veolia UK on our pioneering heating and cooling network at SmartParc SEGRO Derby, as we seek to decarbonise the food industry.
Matthew Osmond recently commented that "SmartParc is leading the way in low-carbon food manufacturing, with their site in Derby set to be a unique hub of manufacturing companies, bringing together innovation and sustainability."
Veolia also created this informative video about the project.
